The Senator representing Edo South Senatorial District in Nigeria’s upper legislative chamber in Abuja, Senator Neda Imasuen, has been honoured with an Award for Legislative Excellence and Democratic Governance.

Senator Imasuen who serves as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, received the award at the 16th African Achievers Awards held at the House of Lords, London, on Tuesday, July 22, 2026.

The award was presented during the annual African Achievers Awards ceremony, which recognises exceptional Africans who have distinguished themselves in leadership, governance, public service, business and community development.

Senator Imasuen received the honour in recognition of his contributions to legislative excellence, democratic governance and public service. The recognition reflects his commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, promoting accountability and advancing quality representation in the Nigerian Senate.

The 16th African Achievers Awards brought together distinguished leaders, policymakers, diplomats and notable personalities from across Africa and beyond to celebrate individuals whose work continues to drive positive change and sustainable development on the continent.
