The former National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Rev. Dr. Felix Omobude, has led a delegation of top Pentecostal leaders in Edo State, to pay a sympathy visit to the Catholic Archdiocese of Benin over the recent passing of Archbishop Augustine Obiora Akubeze.

Rev. Omobude was accompanied on the visit by the Edo State Chairman of the PFN, Evangelist Margaret Agbonifo, and Bishop Oyonnude Oriname Kure.

The visit took place at the residence of the late Archbishop in Benin City. Speaking briefly during the visit, the highly respected Pentecostal leader, said the visit which was on behalf of the Pentecostal family in the State and by extension in Nigeria, was to condole with the Catholic Archdiocese of Benin and the entire Catholic faithfuls in this country.

He described the late Archbishop Akubeze as a very unique, peaceful, and incisive man. According to Rev. Dr. Felix Omobude, Archbishop Akubeze was “a very, very unique man, very peaceful man, very incisive. I happened to have shared moments with him, especially on State issues. His opinions on any matter can hardly be controverted. He was passionate, he was committed, a leader to be trusted. On behalf of the Pentecostal family, we stand with the Catholic faithfuls at this time. We are thankful to God that he gave him to us, and for the amazing wonderful, and dedicated service that he rendered.

Responding, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Donatus Ogun Osa, the Apostolic Administrator of the Catholic Archdiocese of Benin City, who thanked the Pentecostal leaders for the condolence visit, described the late Archbishop Akubeze as “a father to all”.

Also present during the condolence visit, were the Very Rev. Fr Mike Oyanoafoh, Chancellor, Catholic Archdiocese of Benin City, and Rev. Fr. Alfred Agbonlahor, Rector, Catholic ‎Intercessory Prayer Ministry.
