The University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), has appointed Mr. Osaretin O. Iyen, an Assistant Director of Administration, as the new Head of the Public Relations and Information Unit. His appointment takes effect from Monday, 15 December 2025.
Until his appointment, Mr . Iyen was the Head of In-service Training Unit of the Hospital. He holds a B.Sc in Economics and Statistics and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the prestigious University of Benin.
He has served in the administrative department of UBTH, where he has been involved in staff coordination, administrative oversight, and internal communication.
The RELIANCE learnt that his new role will be to oversee the hospital’s public relations activities, coordinate media engagement, and manage the dissemination of information regarding UBTH’s programmes, services, and initiatives.
Mr. Iyen is taking over from Barr. Joshua Uwaila, who has been redeployed to the Pension and Gratuity department of the hospital.
