Deaconess (Mrs.) Patience Iguobaro, is the mother of Comrade Osaigbovo Iguobaro who is the Chief Press Secretary (CPS), to the Oba of Benin, HRM Ewuare II, CFR. She transited to the great beyond on Christmas day (25th January, 2025) after a brief illness.
According to a family source, the late Deaconess (Mrs.) Patience Iguobaro who was from the Okhuasogie family in the Uhunmwode Local Government Area of Edo State, succumbed to the cold hands of death at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), on December 25, last year at the age of 78 years.
She was survived by eight children, including Comrade Osaigbovo Iguobaro, the Chief Press Secretary to the Oba of Benin, many grandchildren and a great grand child.
In an emotion-laden voice, the Oba’s CPS told The RELIANCE that “my mother will forever be missed by her children and those she came in contact with during her lifetime.
“Her daily devotion to hard work, prayer, knowledge of the word of God and wise counsel during difficult moments, are evergreen.
“She interceded for her beloved children daily and inculcated sound moral values in them as a Christian until that remarkable day she went to meet her maker.
“Her children gave her the needed support and showed her care and love in appreciation to the strength of character she demonstrated in times of adversity, especially when my father died over three decades ago.
“My beloved mother suffered a lot to raise her children as a widow even when there was nobody to look up to for help. But, I can’t question God over why He chose to call her home on that day.
“My beloved and educated mother’s death is painful because she didn’t live long enough to reap much of the fruits of the children she laboured to raise from the cradle.”
May the gentle soul of the late Deaconess (Mrs.) Patience Iguobaro, rest in the blossom of God.
